7 September 2026 | 10:00

The Gazi Faculty of Education Research and Development (R&D) Unit held its September meeting on 1 September 2026 in the Dean’s Office Meeting Room, where comprehensive plans for the fall semester were discussed and agreed upon.

The meeting began with an announcement regarding a change in the R&D team. Members were informed that Res. Asst. Dr. Aysun ERTUĞ had been appointed as Deputy Coordinator, succeeding Asst. Prof. Dr. Figen DEMİREL UZUN. A three-year report outlining progress in performance indicators was then reviewed, and it was agreed to reassess the publication-related tasks assigned to the departments and send reminders to the relevant units.

As part of the training programme for academic staff, the results of a needs assessment survey were reviewed. Based on the findings, it was decided to organise training sessions during the fall semester on topics including qualitative research methods, NVivo and MAXQDA, AI-assisted project proposal writing, and Horizon Europe project writing workshops.

The latest progress on the training videos prepared for the TÜBİTAK 2209-A and 2209-B calls, expected to open during the fall semester, was also shared. It was agreed to continue planning in-person training sessions and workshops for students. In addition, an event themed “Bring Your Project Team” was proposed for faculty members currently developing project proposals, with the aim of supporting the project writing process. An introductory event on ESC30 Solidarity Projects was also scheduled for 15 October 2026.

To enhance the visibility of the R&D Unit, it was agreed to add a dedicated project calls section to the website, establish a platform for sharing project ideas, and develop a shared calendar of R&D activities.

The meeting concluded with the decision to hold the next meeting on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, followed by closing remarks and suggestions from the participants.
